One Day Felt-Making Workshop

Ever wondered what the first fibre ever turned into a fabric was?

Come and spend a fun and relaxing day with Gill at Healing Inside Out and learn about this ancient craft. Gill will take you through the basic techniques, from learning how to layout out the wool fibres and compose a design with colour and pattern, through to the wetting down and rolling techniques. You will get to see your unique wool design slowly shrink and matt as the wool fibres tangle together until you are left with a unique table mat of your own design.

We will have ample time during the day to create 2 pieces of felt, so Gill will show you how to make your second piece of felt into a handy carry bag for your tarot/oracle cards or crystals.

Felt-making is a wonderfully versatile and forgiving medium. Easy to make at home once you’ve learnt the basics, and because felt is made from a natural sustainable resource which is bio-degradable you can feel comfortable bringing it into your home or work environment.

All materials and equipment will be supplied.

Gill Brooks is a fibre artist/feltmaker who has been practicing the art/craft of felt-making for over 20 years. During that time she has introduced hundreds of creative and curious people to the wonderful world of felt and has watched people blown away by the magical transformation and incredible versatility of this ancient craft, with a modern twist, of felt-making.
